Classic Reload - 'Desert Golfing'

Hello, gentle readers, and welcome to the Classic Reload, the monthly feature where can't seem to get ourselves out of the bunker. Each month, we take a look at a game from the App Store's past to see how it holds up in the here and now. It's a chance to revisit old favorites, reflect on their place in the iOS library, or simply to take a deeper dive than our reviews typically allow for. As the driver of this doomed golf cart, I try to choose a good selection of games from month to month. That said, if there's something you want to see, don't be shy! You can leave suggestions below in the comments. I can't promise it will appear soon, but it will be added to the master list for future consideration...

Out Now: 'Monument Valley 2', 'Farming Simulator 18', 'Super Nano Jumpers', 'Astro Crash', 'The Quest - Thor's Hammer', 'Pocket Claw', 'Art of Conquest' and More

It's once again time to round up all the big new releases of the week, and with the craziness that is WWDC going on and the surprise release of Monument Valley 2 pretty much clogging up all the featured spots (deservedly so, I should add) it's actually a pretty light week compared to most. That doesn't mean that there isn't still a bunch of interesting things to play, so check out the full list of new releases below and let us know what you've got your eye on. And should anything else noteworthy slip out later than usual, you can bet we'll let you know...

'Blackbox', 'Splitter Critters', 'Mushroom 11', 'Old Man's Journey', and 'Severed' Win Apple Design Awards at WWDC

This year Apple handled the Apple Design Awards a little different from previous years, and honestly, it's probably for the better. Previously, the Apple Design Awards took place after the keynote on the same stage. Turnout was often mediocre as members of the media were off powering away at covering everything announced during the keynote and developers similarly were obsessed with pouring through all the newly released betas. This time around, the awards were given out in a intimate setting with the winners and a few Apple executives. Five objectively fantastic games took home Apple Design Awards, and honestly, I'd be a little shocked if you didn't already own most, if not all of these, if you're a regular here on TouchArcade...

New iPhone Games on Our Forums: 'Astro Crash', 'Monument Valley 2', 'The Quest - Thor's Hammer' and More

Everyone get ready to adjust your tracking, as today is VCR Day. Fun fact, the first readily available consumer VCR released in 1962 would cost you around $1,650 in today's money. Talk about an expensive way to record your afternoon soap operas. 55 years later and here we are on a iOS game release Wednesday in the middle of WWDC. The list is a little light this week, and I feel like you could flip a coin as to whether that's because developers don't want to compete with Apple for coverage this week or if when everyone else saw Monument Valley 2 release they did one of these...

Enjoy Our 100th 'Hearthstone' 'Touchstone Tavern' Weekly Roundup

Welcome everyone to our 100th Touchstone Tavern, our weekly roundup of everything cool and interesting in the world of Hearthstone [Free]. Hard to believe that we've reached that 100 issue milestone, which also translates into me doing this for quite a long time. The first time we published this column was May 26th, 2015, so the 100th issue comes just a bit after the two-year anniversary. I hope you've been enjoying reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it. If you feel like seeing how much the game and the conversations around it have changed, go check out Touchstone #1. Fun times, I guarantee it. And now, enjoy last week's news, today...

Best iPhone Game Updates: 'Minecraft', 'Stickman Skate Battle', 'King Rabbit', 'RayForce', and More

Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It's time once again for our look back at the most noteworthy updates of the last seven days. Lots of good stuff to pick from, but I think I've found a bag of excellent updates we can mostly agree on. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself using AppShopper Social [Free], the watchlist in the TouchArcade App [Free], or by participating in the TouchArcade forums, but this weekly summary is here to fill in the things you might have missed. Let's dig in!..

TouchArcade Game of the Week: 'Yankai's Peak'

The idea behind the TouchArcade Game of the Week is that every Friday afternoon we post the one game that came out this week that we think is worth giving a special nod to. Now, before anyone goes over-thinking this, it doesn't necessarily mean our Game of the Week pick is the highest scoring game in a review, the game with the best graphics, or really any other quantifiable "best" thing. Instead, it's more just us picking out the single game out of the week's releases that we think is the most noteworthy, surprising, interesting, or really any other hard to describe quality that makes it worth having if you were just going to pick up one...

The RPG Reload Play-Along: 'Final Fantasy 5'

Hello, gentle readers, and welcome to the RPG Reload Play-Along. Each month, we'll be playing an iOS RPG together, sharing laughs and tears in equal measures. The post on the front page (like this one!) is basically here to announce the game in question and give a few tips on getting started. The real action will be happening in the TouchArcade forums, where you'll find a thread dedicated to each month's featured game. Sign up if you haven't already, post your screenshots, ask for advice, or just chat about your misadventures with others. We've got a great community of RPG fans here at TouchArcade, so let's make the most of it! As a little incentive, at the end of each month, I will randomly pick one of the participants and send them something small and silly from here in Japan. All you have to do to be eligible is, well, play along with the Play-Along!..

Musgravian Musings - 'Pokemon: Magikarp Jump' is a Crash Course in the Cruel Nature of Mortality

Hello everyone, and welcome to Musgravian Musings, a little space of my own where I can do some non-review reflections on recent game releases. In general, the featured games are ones that have caught my interest in some way or another, and will tend to be games that I didn't (and won't) review. This time around, I'm looking at the latest Pokemon game, Pokemon: Magikarp Jump [Free]. It's more entertaining than you might think, and a lot of that comes down to its contrasting tones. Let's take a closer look at this bizarre game...

Out Now: 'Epic Little War Game', 'Crazy Taxi Gazillionaire', 'Oh…Sir! The Hollywood Roast', 'Monstergotchi', Yankai's Peak', 'Bouncy Hoops', 'Castleparts', 'Fancy Dogs' and More

Welcome to another busy week of new iOS games on the App Store. This week brings forth the long-awaited newest entry in Rubicon's fantastic [Fill in the Blank] War Game series with Epic Little War Game, there's a new Crazy Taxi-themed clicker that is surprisingly way cooler than it sounds like it would be, and Oh…Sir! The Hollywood Roast is that series' take on celebrity parody insult slinging. And as always, there's many more! So check out the full list below and let us know which games you've got your eyes on this week...

New iPhone Games on Our Forums: 'Neighbors from Hell', 'Yankai's Peak', 'Stolen Thunder', 'Maze Bandit', 'Fancy Dogs' and More

It's Wednesday again, and this week the big day of game releases falls on a particularly special day, Speak in Complete Sentences Day. Apparently, this pseudo-holiday is to pay homage to speaking (or writing) in complete sentences instead of using text message shorthand, emoji, and other common forms of communication these days. In the age of covfefe, we need days like today. Anyway, as usual, there's tons of new games to sort through today, including a few we've been following for a while from our upcoming games forum...

Budget Un'Goro Decks, Wild Tournament Talk, Twitch Streamers and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #99

Hello everyone and welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, our weekly Hearthstone [Free] roundup of the best stories and videos. And, as you can see, we are up to issue 99, which is pretty crazy if I'm honest. This week we have some cool guides for Un'Goro budget decks—because we all need cheap things in life—talk about the new player experience, one of the most ridiculous matches ever starring streamer Day9, some issues with the upcoming Wild tournament, and more. It's been quite a busy week overall, and we are glad to be able to bring you all those news in one convenient story. I hope you enjoy both the stories and the videos, and I'll see you all next week for our 100th Touchstone Tavern...

Let's dig in!..

TouchArcade Game of the Week: 'Skullgirls'

The idea behind the TouchArcade Game of the Week is that every Friday afternoon we post the one game that came out this week that we think is worth giving a special nod to. Now, before anyone goes over-thinking this, it doesn't necessarily mean our Game of the Week pick is the highest scoring game in a review, the game with the best graphics, or really any other quantifiable "best" thing. Instead, it's more just us picking out the single game out of the week's releases that we think is the most noteworthy, surprising, interesting, or really any other hard to describe quality that makes it worth having if you were just going to pick up one...

What started off as an impressive but relatively limited Memorial Day-related sales promotion on the App Store has snowballed into a ridiculous week of slashed prices, empty wallets and an abundance of brilliant indie titles now even more accessible than ever before. Thanks to the exceptional detective work and list-making skills of our very own Shaun Musgrave, we've been keeping tabs on the titles that have gone on sale over the last few days. However, for your convenience - and to overwhelm you with the sheer amount of games that are now available at a cheaper price - here is a complete list of the 44 games that, to the best of our knowledge, are taking part in some capacity in the Memorial Day Weekend sales. To help you out even more, we've alphabetised the amalgam of the sales posts, as well as provided helpful links to reviews and other materials that should help you make a wise decision with your funds. Without further ado, here is the full list of discounted titles: ..

RPG Reload File 103 - 'Fairune'

Hello, gentle readers, and welcome to the RPG Reload, the regular feature where we know the trees are a lie. In each installment, we take a look at an RPG from the App Store's past to see how it stands the test of time. It's a chance to revisit old favorites, reflect on their place in the overall library, or simply to take a deeper dive than our reviews typically allow. Being the disembodied voice that tells you where to go, I try to choose a balanced plate of games to feature. If there's a game you really want to see, though, don't be shy! You can let me know in the comments below, by posting in the Official RPG Reload Club thread, or by tweeting me at @RPGReload. You might not see your suggestion soon, but it will be added to the master list for future consideration...

Best New iOS Games On Our Forums: 'Subdivision Infinity,' 'Skullgirls', 'Zombie Gunship Survival', and Loads More

While the internet seems to be split between whether or not it's Asparagus Day today or if it's Asparagus Month the entire month of May, it's officially our made up holiday of the day. Also, a fun fact I only learned recently: A whole lot of people can't smell asparagus pee. Personally, I can, but I'm really not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe simultaneously both. What is a good thing, is the number of awesome iOS games being released this week. We've already posted individual stories about some of the stand-outs, but there's a lot of good indie stuff in here as well...

Murloc Paladin and Silence Priest Guides, Deck Sharing, Elemental Art, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in Touchstone #98

Hello everyone and welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, our weekly roundup of the best stories and videos from the world of Hearthstone [Free]. Last week was quite an interesting one, with Blizzard announcing some big upcoming additions to the client. I was glad to see that the developers are actively working on ways to improve the game, and I'm hoping for a Tournament mode soon (fingers crossed). We also saw a new way to get free cards, and, more importantly for most players, some very good guides for some of the strongest decks in the current meta. We also had some fun tournaments. Scroll down to read all the stories and watch some of the best videos of the past week...
