Typically in role-playing adventures it's the heroes and heroines who are out there completing quests, helping out citizens of the land, and banishing baddies to dust who are the main focus of the game. Yes, those brave souls get all the glory, but do you know who REALLY deserves some credit? Those poor folks who are out there making hundreds and hundreds of weapons for those heroes to use. I mean, you probably aren't going to slay any dragons with your bare hands, you know? These overlooked sub-heroes are the focus of Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?!, a humorous simulation game from Daylight Studios which released to a highly positive reception on Steam two years ago and is finally making its way to mobile next month. Check out this silly, silly trailer for Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?!

In Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! you'll be able to research and forge hundreds of different weapons and then turn around and sell them to the traveling heroes looking to arm themselves before a quest. As your weapon business grows you'll be able to expand it into 20 different "wacky" areas and train and manage up to 30 of your own potato smiths. Oh, and you can even adopt your very own potato dog, because why wouldn't you want to do that!? Daylight Studios cites classics such as Game Dev Story, Weapon Shop De Omasse and Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale as inspirations, and Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! ticks pretty much all the boxes for me. No specific release date has been confirmed but they're shooting for mid-July so keep an eye out for this one next month.
